Microsoft has already introduced Windows 365, a service that streams a full version of Windows to devices. So far, it’s been limited to just commercial customers, but Microsoft has been deeply integrating it into Windows 11 already and now they are planning to move Windows to the cloud for all consumers.
A future update, revealed during an internal presentation on June 22, will include Windows 365 Boot, which will enable Windows 11 devices to login directly in to a Cloud PC instead of the local version of Windows.
Additionally, Microsoft sees the potential of custom CPU partnerships and is exploring the development of ARM-based processors for servers and Surface devices, as well as its own AI chips.
