The base model still lags behind the Galaxy S26 FE. New Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus leak sets us up for grave disappointment, this time for fast charging. The Galaxy S27 could get 25W, while the Galaxy S27 Plus could maintain 45W of wired charging.

The phones, meanwhile, may get MagSafe-style charging with internal magnets. Samsungโ€™s upcoming Galaxy S27 has been leaked and rumored several times over the last few weeks. Even though the series is several months away from launch, several leaks suggest a major direction change Samsung may be planning for the next flagship lineup.

These changes include an i Phone-inspired design for the camera island, though these changes could be limited to the Galaxy S27 Ultra and the new Pro variant. While the vanilla and Plus models remain on the roster, Samsung may march forth with small upgrades only, and new information doesnโ€™t contradict this notion.

Samsungโ€™s upcoming Galaxy S27 lineup has been the subject of several leaks in recent weeks. Now, the base Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ have appeared on Chinaโ€™s 3C certification website, revealing details about their charging capabilities.

According to the 3C listing, the Galaxy S27, carrying the model number SM-S9520, will support 25W wired charging. This is the same charging speed offered by its predecessor, the Galaxy S26, as well as the Galaxy S20, which launched several years ago.

Once again, this matches the Galaxy S26+ and is the same charging speed Samsung has offered since the Galaxy S22+.

It looks like Samsung users may have to wait a few more years before the company finally brings faster charging to its base Galaxy S models. The 3C listing also reveals that both phones will ship with only a USB Type-C cable in the box, which is nothing new for Samsungโ€™s recent flagship smartphones.
