After unveiling the design of its consumer-grade Spectacles back in June, Snap is now announcing that they’ll be available for pre-order starting today with a new 5G carrying case. The company also introduced a new proactive AI agent called Specs Intelligence, which despite being Specs branded, will be available on iPhone and Mac regardless of if you own a pair.
Just a matter of days after iOS 27 has been released to the public, people have already discovered a way to temporarily brick your phone with a quick series of swipes on the home screen. And it’s starting to going viral on social media as some kind of iPhone prank to do on your friends.
Meta’s smart glasses have been quite successful so far, but many people may not need or want a pair with a camera. Thankfully, the company seems intent on serving those people too, if a new report turns out to be accurate.
In iOS 27, available now, Apple has made some changes and additions to the iPhone’s stock Camera app, including the addition of a new Siri mode. Available in addition to the Video, Photo, and other camera modes, Siri mode can be accessed by swiping across the mode carousel at the bottom of the screen.

Luckily, it is only a software soft-lock and you can easily get out of this temporarily bricked state by force rebooting your phone. This iOS 27 bug temporarily freezes your iPhone … and it’s going viral on social media.
Meta is allegedly developing a pair of smart glasses without a camera. These will be called Luna.
The new mode uses Visual Intelligence to identify objects in the frame and provide information about them. It can be used to identify plants, animals, food, and more.
They should be unveiled during Meta’s annual developer conference scheduled to take place on September 23 and 24. The Meta Luna will then ship in October, apparently.
If it’s food you want info on, for example, it can tell you what it is, and how many calories are in it. Other examples Siri mode can be used for include capturing a photo of an event flyer and adding a date to the Calendar app, text translation, splitting a bill, and more.

In Siri mode, a button on the right lets you search Google Images, and a button on the left lets you ask a specific question. So you can ask for help to cook the food in the frame, for instance.
