Wireless charging offers convenience, to be sure, but how does it affect your battery over time. And is it a problem if your phone heats up. Wired vs. wireless charging: Which is better for battery health.
Does it matter that your smartphone feels warm while charging. The short answer to both is yes, but for most people, the optimal balance between convenience and better battery life is to use wireless charging for battery top-ups during the day and leave wired charging for overnight power-ups. When you charge up your smartphone using a cable and power adapter, energy flows from the source through the adapter straight to your phone.
Wireless charging takes more steps to do the same thing. It uses an electromagnetic induction field to send power into the phone. The charging pad pushes electricity around an internal wire coil that magnetically passes energy across to a similar coil inside your phone.
The first modular charging system I’ve used that actually works. Iโve tested dozens of wireless chargers โ this is the first one I actually want to keep using.
After years of testing, I finally found a wireless charger I actually love. They all try to shoehorn everything into a single hub.
Thereโs little, if any, flexibility in placement, choice of charging options, or future upgradeability. As a design enthusiast, I care a lot about how a particular piece of tech looks in my space, and most chargers just arenโt very pretty to look at.
Anyway, the fact is that most charging stations expect you to conform to a fixed layout for your phone, earbuds, and smartwatch. Thatโs fine for a functional product, but for one, the fixed layout has never really suited how I use my phone.
But what if there was a way to do things differently.
So, when you use a wireless charger, the energy flows from the source into an adapter and into the charging device, hops across to your phone to be converted into energy, and recharges the lithium battery in your device.
