Motorola expands the reach of its Qira AI with the Android 17 update

Motorola (and parent company Lenovo) announced Qira, their shared personal AI assistant, at CES. While Qira has been available on some Lenovo devices for a while, it’s only now finally starting to make its way to more Motorola smartphones, following its initial introduction on the Edge 70 Max. It will be arriving on more handsets with the Android 17 update, the company has confirmed today.

Qira will only be rolling out to phones in the Signature, Razr, and Edge series. Motorola bills Qira as a "single AI experience that spans across Motorola and Lenovo products". Motorola expands the reach of its Qira AI with the Android 17 update.

The company’s AI experience is arriving through its Android 17 rollout. Motorola began its rollout of Android 17 back in August.

While some select models now have the stable version of the latest major OS update, the rollout is still underway. Once your device upgrades to Android 17, it will gain several improvements, like a refreshed Quick Settings panel and cross-platform Quick Sharing.

You can now also add Motorola Qira to that list.

Qira can transcribe and summarize conversations, surface suggestions, set reminders, create images, stickers, and avatars, and even create wallpapers from a photo of a pattern, for example.
