This achievement brings us one step closer to fan ports of the game on modern platforms. In fact, an unofficial version of Super Mario Galaxy on PC is already in the works. We’ve already seen roughly half a dozen GameCube games decompiled so far, a process that allows these games to be unofficially ported to modern platforms.

We hadn’t seen any Wii games decompiled just yet, but that recently changed. The SMGCommunity group fully decompiled Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii this week. This makes it the first Wii game to be 100% decompiled.
