
Apple has confirmed an issue causing a “small number” of iPhone 18 Pro Max devices on AT&T to lose cellular service. Apple released software and carrier updates to prevent the issue from affecting additional users, but the company tells that devices that have already lost service will require a hardware replacement. According to Apple’s service and repair website, the iPhone Duo’s top layer of the foldable screen can be replaced. And it’s quite cheap if you have AppleCare.
Apple says the matte screen cover on top of the main display can be replaced for just $19.99 if you have active AppleCare. You just need to visit one of Apple’s Service Providers.
AppleCare also includes a $29 cover display or back glass repairs and $99 inner display replacement. Accidental damage is $99, while theft and loss protection will cost you $149.

Of course, the company tried to make the first layer as durable as possible, but at some point, you may still want to swap it out for a new one. Is it really user replaceable, and if so, will we eventually see third-party films with different features, like privacy layers or glossy covers.
