IOS 27.2 is coming soon with several new features for iPhone users, including Suggested Actions in Messages, a feature that lets the Messages app offer actions based on the context of conversations. If someone asks for a photo, Messages might suggest inserting it with a tap. If someone invites you to an event, Messages can suggest adding it to the Calendar app.
Suggested Actions in Messages originally appeared in the iOS 27 beta but was pulled in the final release. It’s now back in the iOS 27.2 beta, and there’s evidence that Apple is also adding finer manual controls over the one-tap action buttons so that users can turn them on and off individually. Code explorer pdfu found the new controls in iOS 27.2 beta 3.
A new settings screen provides separate toggles for Suggested Actions including Add to Calendar, Add to Reminders, Add to Notes, Show in Maps, and Flights and Packages. There’s also a switch to "Hide Unused Suggestions." When enabled, suggestions that aren’t used will stop being shown in Messages after 30 days. Hidden suggestions can also be re-activated by toggling their individual switches off and back on again, according to the screenshot shared by pdfu.
One of the main new features of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 is the new Siri AI, but this still isn’t available in the EU, despite the fact that Apple released iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 last month. Now if you’ve been wondering just how much longer you’ll have to wait, we have some bad news.
IOS 27 includes several welcome additions to the Messages app, including two key upgrades for RCS conversations. IOS 27 upgrades Messages app with key new features for RCS.
According to the generally reliable Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, we shouldn’t expect Siri AI to launch in the EU "anytime soon". Apparently, Apple wants to use the lack of Siri AI in the EU to get its frustrated customers to "push back against the EU’s regulatory approach".
Redesigned MacBook Pro with OLED to feature โsignificantly lighterโ design: report Michael Burkhardt Oct 4 2026.
That’s definitely an interesting… Here’s when Siri AI may finally become available in the EU.
That’s definitely an interesting strategy if true – convince people to pay a lot of money for products that ship without one of the features you advertise the most, then rely on those same people to complain to the EU about the EU’s regulations so that the EU caves and then you finally give the customers the feature you promised in the first place. Thatโs some incredibly convoluted logic right there, even for Apple – and that’s saying something.
Anyway, Gurman says we should look at the Apple Intelligence rollout. That came out in October 2024 outside of the EU, but only made it to the EU in March 2025, so with a delay of about five months.
Apple is working on granular controls for Suggested Actions in Messages, based on iOS 27.2 beta 3 code. Https://t.co/Fbffdf7epy — pdfu (@itspdfu) October 5, 2026 Apart from Suggested Actions in Messages, iOS 27.2 includes Apple’s redesigned Health app with new Insight and Longevity tabs.
It also brings Siri AI in new languages. There are several other new features, with details available in our features guide.
It was a surprise when Apple released an iOS 27.2 beta ahead of an iOS 27.1 beta, but it’s because the company plans to ship the iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1, and it likely wants to keep some of the iPhone Duo features hidden for longer. The โiPhone Duoโ will launch on October 23.
Apple previously said the new โSiriโ AI languages in iOS 27.2 would be available in October, so it’s likely iOS 27.2 will come shortly after the โiPhone Duoโ’s release date.
