Gemini’s office just got a new coworker. Claude just made one of its biggest moves against Gemini yet. Claude adds Google Workspace integration to take on Gemini.

Claude can directly edit Docs, write formulas and build charts in Sheets, and work on Slides without constant copy-pasting. New Google Workspace connectors also let you create or edit Google files from Claude itself, putting it in more direct competition with Gemini. Using Claude alongside Google Docs has always meant too much jumping back and forth.

You ask Claude to rewrite a paragraph, copy the result into your document, fix the formatting if something breaks, and then repeat the whole process the next time you need help. That extra friction is now starting to disappear. Anthropic is bringing Claude directly into Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides through a new Google Workspace add-on, which is now available in beta for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users.
