Is this a defect or a feature. All I can say is that the Z Fold 8’s crease feels just as solid as the rest of the display. Not your Z Fold 8: iPhone Duo hands-on video shows an extremely soft crease.
The part of the iPhone Duo display that is above the hinge is squishy โ this can be seen in a video originally posted by Weibo user Kang that was shared by Ice Universe. This is not entirely unexpected, but itโs still interesting to see.
The perfectionists over at Apple couldnโt have a crease on their first-ever foldable. And to their credit, they engineered a solution โ the crease is essentially invisible.
This doesnโt mean that the strip over the hinge has solid backing, though. So, if you push it with your finger, it depresses slightly.
Worse, Kang says that when pressing the screen… The iPhone Duo may not have a visible crease, but the display is soft in that area.
