US availability starts next week! Samsung’s open-ear Galaxy Buds On are coming to the US, and we finally know when. Samsung Galaxy Buds On US release date and price confirmed.
The clip-style earbuds feature sound leakage reduction, up to 9.5 hours of battery life, wireless charging, and Gemini Live support. The Galaxy Buds On lack ANC and Bluetooth multipoint support, and come in just one size and color. After trying an all-new aspect ratio for its foldable earlier this year, Samsung is also betting on a new earbud design.
The South Korean company has stuck to familiar earbud designs in the past, but that’s changing now with the Galaxy Buds On. The tech giant launched the new open-ear Galaxy Buds On in Korea yesterday, and even though they aren’t immediately available in the US, the wait for their eventual availability won’t be long. Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Buds On will go on sale stateside on November 6, and they’ll cost $229.
At the beginning of this month, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Buds On, its first pair of clip-on earbuds. Today, the company has also announced them for the US market, where they will become available to purchase in early November for $229.
Samsung is returning to open-ear design wireless buds and these ones clip on. Samsung’s Galaxy Buds On are its first clip-on, open-ear wireless earbuds.
Then, Samsung says it will bring them to Europe in early 2027. The Galaxy Buds On are built "for situations that demand awareness" of your environment and "hands-free convenience", Samsung says.
While they don’t pack high-level noise cancellation like the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, the company claims its new Audio Leakage Reduction tech reduces sound leakage by protecting reversed sound waves at the rear of each bud, ostensibly canceling it out. The company says it pulled data from over 119 million ear scans to help the Buds On fit across a range of ear shapes and sizes and have IP54 water resistance.
The company used AI-assisted optimizations and physics simulations to refine their design for "a diverse range of ear shapes", drawing on more than 119 million… Samsung launches the Galaxy Buds On clip-on earbuds in the US, here’s the price.
They’re also designed to ensure a low-pressure fit around the ear, something many of us crave from open-ear buds, avoiding the discomfort from typical wireless headphones that form a seal around the ear canal. As mentioned, these aren’t Samsung’s first open-type design; you might recall the underwhelming Galaxy Buds Live.
Computational modeling helped optimize speaker and battery geometry "to create a low-pressure fit around the ear, while refining the stiffness and shape of the band for a secure, comfortable fit", the company has. Samsung’s Audio Leakage Reduction technology reduces escaping sound before it travels outward by "projecting reversed sound waves from the rear of the speaker", keeping audio more private.
The more recent (and better) Galaxy Buds 4 launched earlier this year and also have an open-type, semi-in-ear profile like recent AirPods. The Galaxy Buds On pack a new high-efficiency Class-D amplifier designed to balance power consumption and punchy sound.
The Galaxy Buds On are powered by the Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform.
Battery life also looks solid, with an estimated 9.5 hours of music playback on a single charge.
