The Samsung Galaxy A18 is a simple phone that does the basics. It’s limited to 4G networks, has a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging, a 6.7-inch 90Hz AMOLED display, and runs Android 17 with Samsung’s One UI 9 flavouring. In the hand, it feels okay.

It’s an almost 200-gram phone with a plastic frame and back panel, and comes in Black, Gray, and this Light Blue. Light is a very accurate term indeed – it’s a very subtle color. There’s a fingerprint scanner in the right-hand-placed power button, and it’s accurate and works fine!

One UI 9’s global tour seems to have hit a layover. Samsung’s One UI 9 rollout may have hit a speed bump for the Galaxy S26 (Updated: Dates removed).

Samsung Galaxy S26 One UI 9 rollout may have been delayed. The new date puts the Galaxy S26 series alongside the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold 7, which were already scheduled for September 28.

Samsung hasn’t explained the change or announced a wider delay, so it’s unclear whether the revised date applies beyond Thailand. Update, September 22, 2026 (09:22 AM ET): Samsung’s Thailand Newsroom has once again changed its press release, removing the September 28 date.

The press release now says the One UI 9 update will be released “within September” for the Galaxy S26 series, S25 series, and Galaxy Z7 series. Samsung started rolling out the stable One UI 9 update to the Galaxy S26 series in Korea a few days ago, which usually means owners elsewhere don’t have to wait too long.

The main camera is a 50MP unit with a reasonable 1/2.76-inch sensor and a bright f/18 lens that’s also stabilized. We expect this combination to yield nice results, and it also doubles as a 2x zoom.

It may seem like we’re not overly excited by the Galaxy A18, but that’s fine.
