Here's Everything Apple Announced This Week

It’s been a busy October for Apple, and just this week, we got a new OLED iPad mini, an ‌OLED‌ MacBook Pro with a touch display, a new M6 ‌MacBook Pro‌, and an M6 iMac. If you missed the news over the last three days, we’ve rounded up all our coverage in one spot, so it’s easy to take a look back. The ‌MacBook Pro‌ got the biggest update, and it’s now the first Mac with an ‌OLED‌ display and touch support.

It’s a little bit thinner and lighter than the mini-LED models, which are also still on sale, but it unfortunately uses the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips Apple introduced earlier this year. It also got a Dynamic Island, a glowing Apple logo, and a new speaker setup, but prices went up too. The ‌OLED‌ models have a $400 premium over comparable mini-LED models.

Apple’s other big update was the ‌iPad mini‌, which also has an ‌OLED‌ display. It’s the second iPad to get ‌OLED‌ after the iPad Pro, and it’s the first ‌iPad‌ with an official water and dust resistance rating. It uses a new acoustic display setup, helping it earn an IP67 rating, so it’ll hold up to brief submersion and splashing.

Apple this week unveiled a range of new products, including a new iPad mini, M6 updates for the iMac and MacBook Pro, and the first-ever MacBook Pro with a touchscreen. Those products are now available to pre-order on Amazon: iPad mini M6 MacBook Pro M6 iMac MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display and Touch moreโ€ฆ.

With all the fuss about Apple finally releasing a touchscreen MacBook Pro, you may have forgotten about the OLED part. Apple’s PROLED XDR Display has a cringy name but incredible specs.

The company has also launched its first ever Alexa-powered photo frame. Amazonโ€™s new Echo Show 16 is a smart display and Fire TV rolled into one.

Thatโ€™s a 27% discount relative to the RRP, and it makes this premium pair of true-wireless earbuds a lot more tempting right now. One of the big draws here is the smart charging case.

News Computing Laptops Apple’s PROLED XDR Display has a cringy name but incredible specs The displays offer high brightness, contrast and color accuracy and even adapt to pixel usage. It’s typical of Apple to change a standard tech term to a cringy marketing-focused name, but in this case, the "PRO" designation appears to be justified.

It has a small display and a touch bar, so you can adjust ANC and other settings without digging through your phone. Thatโ€™s paired with dual dynamic drivers, a 10.5 mm driver and a 4.6 mm driver, plus Soundcoreโ€™s ACAA tuning for crisp highs, strong bass, and a fuller sound overall.

The new MacBook Pros are squarely aimed at photographers, artists and video editors who can justify the high price for a high-quality touch display. To appeal to those folks, Apple didn’t just integrate a touch feature and OLED display and call it a day.

Noise canceling is also a major focus on the Liberty 4 Pro. Soundcore says the adaptive ANC uses multiple sensors and adjusts to your surroundings every 0.3 seconds, which is handy when youโ€™re moving between quieter rooms and busy streets.

Rather, it built what looks like one of the best pro laptop displays ever, with high brightness and contrast, excellent color accuracy and even a display engine that adapts to a pixel’s age. For the new models, Apple used tandem OLED technology (first employed on the M4 iPad Pro) that stacks multiple organic layers into a single display panel.
