Apple apparently has two game controllers in the works

Practically anything Apple releases tends to enjoy at least some popularity. Unfortunately, like with most of the industry, the days of outright silly products like the iPod Socks (yes, we are not making this up) seem to be gone now. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t still room for somewhat stranger products.

Apparently, Cupertino is working on two different game controllers, or at least that’s what code found inside macOS 26.7 suggests. The macOS Tahoe 26.7 release candidate code actually seems to contain a bunch of references to unannounced devices, including camera-equipped AirPods and… Apple apparently has two game controllers in the works.

But the most “out-there” references are arguably for the T6502 and T1057 – both identified as game controllers. Apple doesn’t really have game controllers in its roster, although, technically, if you could count the Pippin, it has offered at least one controller in the past.

In fact, Apple spent quite a bit of resources to make the most popular third-party controllers out there compatible with its platforms.
